	Hi! Thanks so much for taking the time to visit us on the web. My name is Charlie Gumm and I’m the pastor of Community Lutheran Church. On behalf of the folks who attend our church I’d like to extend a warm welcome to you.

I sure don’t want to bore you with a lot of details about me, so I’ll just tell you a little about myself so you can go on to other areas of interest in the site. My wife Wendy and my three children came to Hawaii in June of 2003 after working in Brazil for 14 years. What a time of learning and growing and fun that was! It was tough to leave but coming to Hawaii sure made it a lot easier. I’ve been in a pastor for almost 20 years now and though that seems like a long time in many ways, I’m like anyone else, struggling on a daily basis to know and do God’s purposes for my life. If you are looking seriously at the Christian faith, I want you to know how I feel for you with all the churches shouting, “We’re the right one! We have the truth!” I bet you might even have thought it would be nice if God would send you an e-mail with the name of the church you should attend. What I want you to know is that we’re sensitive to your doubts and misgivings. In fact, that’s part of the Christian life. Our pledge to you at Community is to answer all the questions you have to the best of our ability and then give you the time and space to work through those answers for yourself.
